Odia cine actor Mahashweta's original name is Rashmi. Her first film was Shesa Shrabana. Recently she has acted in a film with his nephew(sister Malabika's son) Budhaditya.
My statement is based on a news item which I read many years ago..........so may be it wrong....I have no source to verify it. But it may be right and seems incorrect to you because of her sister's name.......what I mean is may be her original name Rashmi was changed when she acted in film and it was made Mahashweta to sound lyrical with her sister's name. Another fact about Budhaditya is he was our immediate senior in the Dept. of Political Science; Ravenshaw and was called as Akash by his friends.
Thanks for the reply. To avoid all confusions why don't you ask Budhaditya about his aunt!!! Mahashweta's father Prof. Raj Kishor Ray was happens to be my father's teacher in college and he was a well known name in the field of literature and education.I thought he named two of his daughters as Malavika and Maheshweta perfectly from the very beginning.This can be only clarified from her family sources.
Rashmi is her original name or another name??? may be this statement is incorrect. But good to know about the back-ground of Budhaditya.
